About The Position

Insteel Wire Products is seeking a Material Handler to move materials, such as raw materials and finished product, in tight, high-traffic areas using a forklift. The role involves ensuring all tasks are completed with risk lowered to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) to achieve ZERO HARM. This includes no injuries, illness, or negative impact to employees, property, the environment, or the community. The position requires daily work to ensure all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

Requirements

• Knowledge of safety equipment and safety procedures for day-to-day operations.
• Possess or be able to obtain a forklift operator certification.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
• A minimum of two (2) years' forklift experience required.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Maintain good housekeeping/neat work area while loading and unloading material.
• Safely operate equipment in a close-quarter environment with various materials, trucks, and employees present.
• Stage raw material (steel rod) at appropriate machines.
• Move, weigh, and stage finished product.
• Visually check quality of finished product.
• Work closely with production employees and train others as needed.
