About The Position

LMC is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Material Handler / Shipping & Receiving Clerk to add to our current warehouse team. This role is responsible for managing incoming materials, organizing inventory, and preparing outbound shipments while supporting daily manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a physically demanding warehouse environment.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in reading a tape measure
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed prints and specifications
  • Basic computer skills for inventory and shipping documentation
  • Experience operating or willingness to learn telehandler and Hilo equipment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Warehouse and material handling practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Shipping and receiving processes and documentation
  • Safe operation of material handling equipment
  • Basic inventory control principles
  • Workplace safety standards and procedures
  • Ability to Implement Skills and Knowledge
  • Accurately measure, sort, and stage materials for production and shipping
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment to move heavy materials
  • Maintain organized inventory locations and accurate records
  • Apply print reading and measurement skills to prevent material errors
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, and moving materials throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and operate equipment for extended periods

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming sheet steel and structural components against purchase orders and packing slips
  • Sort, label, and store incoming materials in designated warehouse locations
  • Read and accurately use a tape measure to verify material dimensions
  • Interpret and understand detailed prints and work instructions
  • Prepare and organize materials for production and outbound shipments
  • Load and unload trucks using a telehandler or Hilo (forklift)
  • Assist with shipping documentation and coordination with carriers
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using basic computer systems
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Identify and report damaged, missing, or incorrect materials
