About The Position

Carpenter Co. is hiring a detail-oriented and dependable Material Handler - Sewer for its first-shift manufacturing team at its plant in Temple, Texas. The role supports production of pillows and pet beds by safely operating industrial sewing machines and managing products through the manufacturing process. The successful candidate has strong mechanical aptitude and works effectively in a fast-paced environment while helping meet production goals and maintain operational excellence. The position involves setting up, adjusting, and operating sewing machines to production specifications; inspecting finished products; preparing products for shipment; maintaining production pace; and keeping machines and workstation supplies in good order. The role requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting materials throughout the shift, as well as the ability to follow orders and maintain a safe workspace. Overtime may be needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift materials throughout the shift.
Strong hand-eye coordination for precise grabbing, handling, and machine operation.
Sharp reading, seeing, and hearing skills to follow orders and maintain a safe workspace.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

Set up, adjust, and operate industrial sewing machines according to production order specifications.
Inspect, catch, and evaluate finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
Box, stack, and organize completed pillows and pet beds for shipment.
Maintain a steady production pace on the line.
Perform routine machine cleaning and adjustments.
Monitor workstation supplies and keep materials stocked to prevent downtime.
