2nd Shift Material Handler / Saw Operator

About The Position

Responsible for receiving, marking, storage and issue of all raw materials. This role involves proficiency with the setup and operation of the saw, ensuring materials are correctly identified throughout all phases of receipt, issue, staging, and return to the stockroom. The position requires accurate raw material inventory transactions in the ERP System, including part number, quantity, lot number, heat lot, and location. Material is issued to work orders according to the Foreman's report and delivered to the appropriate staging area. The role also includes documenting work on travelers and in the ERP system, continuously monitoring department equipment, and submitting preventative maintenance requests. Assistance may be required for the Receipt of Goods and Outside Services, and shuttling WIP between buildings. Participation in Cycle Counting and Physical Inventory events is expected. The Material Handler / Saw Operator must maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment, follow safety regulations, and ensure assigned activities comply with Seabrook Quality System procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 1 years related experience
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions on work orders and in procedures.
  • Ability to set up and cut material precisely to Work Order requirements.
  • Ability to use appropriate measuring tools.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Experience with inventory control databases and transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient with set up and operation of the saw.
  • Assure that materials are identified through all phases of receipt, issue, staging and return to stock room.
  • Responsible for raw material inventory transactions in ERP System including part number, quantity, lot number, heat lot, and location as applicable.
  • Issue material to work orders in line with Foremans report and deliver material to appropriate staging area.
  • Document work on traveler and in ERP system.
  • Responsible for continuously monitoring department equipment.
  • Submit preventative maintenance requests when equipment does not operate per expectations.
  • Assist in Receipt of Goods and Outside Services when additional help is required.
  • Shuttle WIP back and forth from Core building to Implant Building when required.
  • Participate in Cycle Counting and Physical Inventory events.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment by keeping area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Assure that assigned activities are performed in accordance with Seabrook Quality System procedures.
