About The Position

Works within Tharp’s material warehouse, moving, handling, and storing different materials. This position tracks stock within the warehouse, records orders, and stores company materials. The Material Handler is responsible for loading and unloading inventory, supplies, and other packages.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables; exercise judgment, resourcefulness, ingenuity, and initiative.
  • Windows based computers experience MS Office functions such as Outlook, Teams, SharePoint.
  • Punctual and regular attendance

  • Always delivers excellent customer service with both external and internal customers.
  • A team and detailed oriented person who is highly organized.
  • Excellent at analyzing information and dealing with complexity of each task.
  • Approximately 90% standing and 10% walking.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must strictly adhere to company safety policies, including the use of required PPE such as safety glasses, earplugs, and masks.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain certification for operation of all Tharp forklifts.
  • Load and unload materials used to support production.
  • Verify the accuracy and quality of incoming deliveries.
  • Label products and place them in appropriate storage locations.
  • Identify and locate products for delivery to production.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through regular audits, cycle counts, and maintaining proper FIFO inventory practices.
  • Handle returns by completing technical documentation and required communications.
  • Conduct daily inspections and audits of material handling equipment to maintain safe operating condition.
  • Communicate purchasing requirements and monitor availability of products in short supply.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to locate missing inventory, correct delivery issues, and identify damaged products.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Perform quality control by manually scanning materials while stocking; log defective items and paperwork discrepancies into the RGA database. Notify Purchasing immediately of discrepancies.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, including OSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
