The Material Handler will report to the Tank Fab Manufacturing Manager of the facility and have responsibilities in driving stand up and sit-down forklifts for material delivery to and from the manufacturing lines. In this role, Material Handlers will lead and assist in all tasks and projects as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager.

Requirements

  • Flexibility in schedule to work overtime as required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience on-the-job forklift experience
  • Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive work ethic and attitude; willingness to learn and meet expectations of the various assignments
  • Dependability; demonstrate and maintain good attendance and punctuality
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Deftness and attention to detail
  • Be able to pass both stand-up and sit-down forklift test and MEO fit test as well.
  • Candidate must possess the interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and lead in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Positive work ethic and attitude; willingness to learn and meet expectations of the various assignments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Possess specific knowledge for tank processing area.
  • Pick parts according to work order instructions for delivery to manufacturing.
  • Perform cycle counts and associated transactions.
  • Special handling of parts with cure date / shelf life.
  • Create, print, and pull parts from finished goods stock room if needed.
  • Perform inventory transactions and process scrap tickets.
  • Perform stocking transactions into FIS and finished goods as required.
  • Research & correct inventory variances.
  • Track shipping supply inventory (i.e. boxes, bags, packing material, etc.).
  • Operate forklift, pallet jack, tank carts, etc.
  • Possess forklift certification as required.
  • Must pass training prior to driving.
  • Use proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures.
  • Must be comfortable multi-tasking and working within deadlines.
  • Participate in and support team initiatives.
  • Receive guidance from higher level employees.
  • Cross train other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience
  • Report problems to appropriate resource and / or coach.
  • Keep all shift operators informed of special problems involving operation or set up.
  • Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of new processes and/or issues.
  • Work extended and flexible hours as needed to support business needs including working weekends and / or extended shifts.
  • Be willing to work on the shop floor to fill in operator positions in as necessary.
  • Proper communication in pre-shift and end-of-shift meetings, including accurate documentation.
  • Operate in a LEAN manufacturing environment and strive to suggest process improvements
  • Identify quality issues and troubleshoot to resolution with production team.
