About The Position

The Material Handler Lead position is expected to lead and train a team to follow detailed instructions, complete repetitive tasks, and work independently of others. The Lead is responsible for ensuring raw materials are properly received, stored, and shipped, monitoring and documenting processes through handwritten and electronic means, and maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment. The Material Handling Lead position follows all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and works in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory, quality, and sanitation requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum High school Diploma or Equivalency
  • Must be able to competently operate a pallet jack
  • Previous material handling experience required
  • Must be able to read, write, and demonstrate verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess intermediate math skills
  • Ability to work with technology
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and rules
  • Must be self-motivated and a self-starter, needing little direction
  • Experience leading employees
  • Must show a sense of urgency in completing tasks
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people with varying levels of education, expertise, and backgrounds
  • Possess a positive attitude
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays when required

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years relevant experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and train a team to follow detailed instructions, complete repetitive tasks, and work independently of others
  • Ensure raw materials are properly received, stored, and shipped
  • Monitor and document processes through handwritten and electronic means
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
  • Work in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory, quality, and sanitation requirements
  • Direct a team in shipping and receiving raw materials and finished product
  • Direct a team in putting away raw materials in coolers and freezers
  • Direct a team in recording temperatures of coolers, freezers, and raw materials being tempered
  • Direct a team in assisting prep room with raw material needs
  • Direct a team in assisting inventory control with inventory count and disposals
  • Direct a team in cleaning and organizing coolers, freezers, and dock area
  • Direct a team in sweeping and washing out dirty trailers
  • Direct a team in printing allergen tags
  • Direct a team in completing all necessary paperwork accurately and legibly
  • Training responsibilities to new hires
  • Procure inventory counts
  • Handle cleaning chemicals in a safe manner, utilizing safety equipment such as gloves, eyewear, etc.
  • Maintain a safe environment
  • Adhere to OSI and Park 100 Foods policies and procedures at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned
