About The Position

Goodwill Southern California is hiring Material Handler IV team members to support our mission of transforming lives through the power of work. In this advanced role, you’ll operate specialized equipment, manage inventory within racking systems, and support high-level material flow across the supply chain.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to perform Material Handler III responsibilities.
  • Certification to operate both sit-down and stand-up (high-reach) forklifts, or ability to obtain and maintain certification.
  • Experience working with racking systems and high-reach equipment.
  • Experience loading and unloading commodity bales and palletized goods.
  • Experience creating and managing Bills of Lading (BOLs).
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and material flow.
  • Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and operational detail.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions consistently.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work with moderate supervision.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to Goodwill’s mission and RISE values (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence).

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a stand-up high-reach forklift to place and retrieve palletized goods within racking systems safely and accurately.
  • Load and unload commodity bales into vendor containers, supporting outbound shipments and aftermarket sales.
  • Prepare and manage Bills of Lading (BOLs), ensuring accurate and compliant documentation.
  • Operate a sit-down forklift to move, stack, and transport palletized goods, MUTs (Mobile Unit Transport containers), and materials.
  • Load and unload trailers and vendor vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as tippers, stackers, conveyors, pallet jacks, and compactors.
  • Stack and organize materials, including palletized goods and Gaylords, ensuring stability and proper storage.
  • Ensure MUTs and Blue Bins are properly labeled, clean, and operationally ready.
  • Sort and manage recyclables in accordance with company standards.
  • Assist drivers with loading and unloading operations as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures, maintain certifications, and use required PPE at all times.
  • Support overall production, safety, and operational performance goals.
