Requirements

High School level education.
1-3 years of experience or job related.
Must drive a forklift and hold an operator’s license.
Read and write English.
Lift objects up to forty (40) pounds with help.
Hand-eye coordination.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Ability to communicate verbally.
Must be able to read, interpret, understand and have the ability to perform the various operations as listed on Floor Plans, Work Order Books, Quality and Engineering drawings/documents, Operating and Maintenance instructions, and parts and procedure manuals associated with each individual product unit.
Utilizing the appropriate Personal Protection Equipment, must be able to Safely operate all power tools, hand tools and specialty tools required in the assembly process.
Must have the ability to utilize Deductive Reasoning and Critical Thinking using logic and reasoning to identify potential problems, strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and approaches for continuous product and cost improvement applications.
Ability to work in a “team atmosphere” or independently in a fast-paced environment.
Has contact with other production personnel, Sales, Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Lean, Product Support and other personnel or Vendors, as necessary.
Ability to bend, stoop, and squat.
Occasionally lift up to but not exceed 40#’s.
Ability to work with arms above head.
Able to read and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Read work order or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Open containers.
Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales or other containers.
Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band bundles together as required.
Lift heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and clean work area, machines, and equipment.
Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
