About The Position

The Material Handler II is responsible for verifying received items against documentation, breaking down products into correct selling units, and stocking them in the appropriate locations. This role also involves managing inventory rotation for items with expiration dates, utilizing RF technology, and handling damaged products. Training will be provided in various distribution functions, including Receiving and Picking. The position requires adherence to company standards for quality and quantity of work, as well as compliance with all company policies and procedures, including WorldWide Business Standards and workplace behavior directives.

Requirements

  • Good reading, writing, math, and computer skills.
  • Good communication (written/verbal) skills.
  • Detail oriented and accountable for making accurate decisions under set guidelines.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work under stress, and handle multiple assignments.
  • Ability to read fine print and differentiate products with similar characteristics (size, color, vendor code).
  • Lift, carry or move products up to 0-25 lbs – Continuous.
  • Pushing/pulling: uses hand jack. 25lbs of force is needed.
  • Gripping and fine hand manipulation: Continuously.
  • Twist/bending: Frequently.
  • Squatting: Frequently.
  • Kneeling: Frequently.
  • Reaching overhead: Occasionally.
  • Climbing ladders/stepstools: Occasionally.
  • Walk/stand on concrete: Continuously.
  • Use of Put away/Replenishment cart: Occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of basic warehousing operations preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or comparable work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies that items have been received correctly by matching product description, quantity, packaging unit, and expiration date (where applicable) on the putaway document or RF device, with the product received.
  • Breaks down products received into correct selling units and puts products into correct stocking location, as noted on the putaway document or RF device.
  • Notes discrepancies and marks products for review by department team lead or supervisor as appropriate.
  • Ensures items with expiration dates have stock rotated accordingly.
  • Learns to utilize RF technology.
  • Handles damaged products by bringing them to the designated damaged area in Inventory Control or calling the spill team as appropriate.
  • Will also be trained in various distribution functions such as Receiving and Picking.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
  • Meets company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures including WorldWide Business Standards.
  • Adheres to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.
