About The Position

Responsible for operating powered industrial trucks to unload materials and merchandise from incoming trucks and picking product and getting ready for shipment. This role requires the ability to operate various types of forklifts, cherry pickers, and swing reach trucks, accurately pick parts, weigh product, and verify part numbers and quantities with a high degree of accuracy. The position also involves accurately packing orders into shipping cartons, ensuring all components are accounted for and match customer requirements, including special instructions. Additionally, the Material Handler II will assist with training and mentoring other warehouse associates, maintain warehouse and shipping supplies, participate in physical inventory counts and audits, and report any stock shelf issues or defective materials to the Lead or Supervisor. Maintaining warehouse cleanliness and orderliness is crucial, as is the willingness to work in any department of the warehouse as needed and follow all safety rules. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Certified to operate forklifts, cherry pickers and swing reach trucks.
  • Willing and able to work in other departments as needed.
  • Strong proficiency in English communication including reading, writing, and verbal interactions are required for complying with safety protocols and operational procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2+ years of related job experience preferred.
  • RF handheld experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts, cherry pickers and swing reach trucks.
  • Accurately pick parts throughout the warehouse.
  • Weigh product using the proper scales.
  • Check part numbers and quantities with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Accurately pack orders into shipping cartons, verifying all components of the order are accounted for the correct customer.
  • Read customer order notes and fill the order with any special customer requirements.
  • Assist the Department Lead and/or Supervisor with training/mentoring Warehouse Associates.
  • Maintain stock of warehouse and shipping supplies.
  • Assist in counting physical inventory; perform inventory audits as needed.
  • Notify Department Lead or Department Supervisor of any stock shelf issues.
  • Report defective materials/product, shortages and/or questionable conditions to the Lead or Supervisor.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Be trained and willing to work in any department of the warehouse in a moment’s notice.
  • Follow all safety rules.
