About The Position

This role requires an employee to work their regularly scheduled shift, including overtime and weekends if scheduled. The Material Handler II will independently use proper equipment to move materials within the plant and unload incoming materials from outside carriers, with periodic use of a forklift as directed. The position requires maintaining forklift certification and the ability to operate a forklift and electric pallet jack properly and safely after training. The employee will use inventory/ERP systems for material transactions and inventory tracking, learn repetitive tasks quickly, and be able to read and comprehend Bill of Materials. Basic computer skills are necessary to operate company software. Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of material handling/forklift experience in a manufacturing, warehouse or distribution environment required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and electric pallet jack properly and safely after provided training.
  • Ability to work in all material handling area/functions, not limited to forklift operation only.
  • Ability to use inventory/ERP systems for material transactions and inventory tracking.
  • Ability to learn repetitive tasks quickly.
  • Ability to read and comprehend Bill of Materials.
  • Ability to be proactive in continuous improvement.
  • Basic computer skills to operate Company software.
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Experience using ERP/inventory systems such as PLEX preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting shipping/receiving, inventory control, material flow and product support preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Independently use proper equipment, move materials within plant along with unloading incoming materials from outside carriers.
  • Periodic use of forklift as directed.
  • Work their regularly scheduled shift; including overtime and weekends if scheduled.
  • Maintain forklift certification for position.
  • Uses forklifts periodically to move materials around building.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, vendors, co-workers, and Supervisors.
  • Will not impose on self or others as a direct threat to health or safety.
  • Works as a team player, helping to meet departmental and Company goals and objectives.
