This is a Material Handler I role in the Material Handling department. Your work shift will be 1st shift Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 3:00pm. Within the Material Handling department, you will perform multiple tasks and regularly use PIT equipment. In addition to daily tasks, you will participate in safety, quality, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • No previous work experience required
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds.
  • Demonstrates the Thermo Fisher values (The Four I’s) – Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.
  • Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Close vision and ability to adjust focus are required.
  • Regularly required to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • May be required to lift weight of 45 pounds or more, with assistance and/or with equipment on occasion.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in distribution, warehouse or supply chain or related field
  • Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers)

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, examining, sorting, arranging, counting, storing, picking, and packing items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.
  • Preparing and filing routine documentation.
  • Maintaining quality metrics.
  • Operating material handling equipment (e.g. hand truck, pallet jack, Forklift etc).
  • Working in and out of a +4c walk-in Cold Room and -20c walk-in Freezer.
