About The Position

V2X is growing and looking for a Material Handler I to join our team at the Indianapolis site. This role performs tasks aligned with the Core Logistics Functions of Receiving, Storing, Issuing, Inventory, Mail, and Delivery. The main tasks involve picking parts to create full kits for the production floor from various warehouses within the facility. The position requires performing manual and weight counts of materials, recording and updating logs and documentation, and inputting transactional data into systematic records. It also involves attaching identifying tags and labels, using measurement tools and mathematical formulas for storage and handling, and utilizing various electrical or mechanical equipment for logistics tasks. Ensuring equipment is in proper working condition and performing preventative maintenance is also a key responsibility. Additionally, the role involves preparing and adjusting space and layout requirements for warehouses, storerooms, and common work areas, including rearranging and assembling shelving and moving benches.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
  • 2 years of work experience in the core Logistics functions of Receiving, Storing, Issuing, Inventory, and Delivery.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to lift weight in accordance with current OSHA, Bureau of Labor Standards, and V2X recommendations and guidelines.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Forklift experience or have the ability to be trained to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Pick parts to create full kits to deliver to the production floor from various warehouses in the facility.
  • Perform manual and/or weight counts of materials/property.
  • Record and/or update various internal and external logs, forms, and documentation.
  • Perform transactional input into various internal and external systematic records.
  • Attach identifying tags, markings, and labeling to material, property, handling, staging, storage and shipment containers or receptacles.
  • Use calculators, tape measure and/or mathematic formulas to meet storage and handling requirements.
  • Utilize various electrical or mechanical equipment to perform Core Logistics tasking.
  • Ensure all required equipment is in proper working condition and preventative maintenance has been performed before and after use.
  • Prepare and adjust space and layout requirements for LAM Warehouses, Storerooms and common work areas including rearrangement, assembly and movement of shelving, shelves within shelving, adjustments to pallet rack shelf heights at ground level, movement of benches and associated hardware within LAM.
