Material Handler I
About The Position
The Material Handler I works under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor to carry out departmental responsibilities including order fulfillment (picking, packing, and shipping), stocking items using inventory management and barcode systems, and adhering to standard operating procedures. This role requires the ability to multi-task and pull/pack orders efficiently. Requirements
- High School degree or equivalent
- Proven ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to solve general math problems encountered in day-to-day operations
- Consistently displays attention to detail
- Proficient in oral and written communications, both internally and externally
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a variety of situations
- Beginner ability with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Software and E-mail
Nice To Haves
- Six months ‘ related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment is preferred
Responsibilities
- Assigns orders to boxes ready to ship using barcode scanner
- Picks proper item numbers and quantities per pick list
- Uses barcode scanner to pack orders
- Packs product in properly sized boxes
- Packs ice products in proper containers
- Loads and unloads trucks using forklifts and hand jacks
- Uses FedEx Ship Manager
- Uses UPS World Ship
- Prepares Bill of Ladings for less than truckload and truckload shipments
- Prepares and ships international shipments with Customs Invoices and Shippers Export Declarations
- Manually stocks inventory
- Uses Great Plains Inventory program systems manager
- Performs Great Plains inventory inquiries and bin transfers
- Investigates inventory and order errors, physically and in Great Plains system
