About The Position

Ferrara/KME are premiere manufacturers of fire trucks and emergency response vehicles, offering a full line of pumpers, aerials, industrial, wildland, and rescue apparatus. They work hands-on with municipal and industrial fire departments to custom design fire apparatus solutions. Ferrara/KME is part of Terex Corporation, a global designer and manufacturer of specialized vehicles and equipment, committed to safety, innovation, and quality. The Material Handler is primarily responsible for the transfer of raw materials, parts, and finished products between various production areas and internal and/or external warehouses. Daily duties include delivering parts to the assembly line in a timely manner to ensure adherence to production schedules, monitoring inventory levels, maintaining tidy work areas, and following detailed instructions to meet safety and quality requirements. This position operates on a Monday – Thursday 6:00AM – 4:30PM schedule, with occasional overtime potentially required.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write notes and memos.
  • Must possess math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.
  • Demonstrate ability to speak clearly to be understood in one-on-one conversations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Prior material handling experience in a warehouse/ industrial environment
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Read, write, comprehend and verbally communicate in English
  • Capable of operating any Power Industrial Vehicle (PIV)(Testing Required)
  • Attention to detail
  • Willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing
  • Good hand eye coordination

Responsibilities

  • Delivers parts to production areas in a timely manner
  • Count material, equipment, or supplies as requested in stock and reports totals or updates inventory records.
  • Prepares a list of depleted items, as well as defective or unusable items.
  • Locate and extract information from files or online locations as requested
  • Immediately report all safety incidents/accidents, no matter how small, to their supervisor.
  • May participate in weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual physical inventories by entering data into the system and supporting the overall inventory process.
