About The Position

The Material Handler I is responsible for various warehouse operations including order pulling, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory management. This role requires attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and shipments, reliability in adhering to schedules, and the ability to safely operate forklifts. The position involves quality checks, proper packing of items to prevent damage, processing shipments through shipping software, and managing returned merchandise. Additionally, the Material Handler I receives supplier deliveries, inspects goods, and processes them into inventory.

Basic understanding of shipping/receiving/warehouse process.

Ability to teach others with compassion and understanding that all people learn differently.

Previous lift truck experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform quality checks on all outgoing and incoming shipments.
Locate the correct parts based on order details.
Stock kanbans.
Ensure proper pulling, packing, and labeling of parts orders for shipping.
Utilize spray foam and pre-shaped foam inserts to secure items in shipping boxes.
Ensure that all items are packed in a manner that prevents damage during transit.
Process UPS and FedEx domestic orders through the respective shipping software.
Ensure that all packages have correct labeling and postage before dispatch.
Unpack returned items and verify their condition.
Initiate the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process in the system.
Receive supplier deliveries and verify against purchase orders.
Inspect the condition of received goods and process them into inventory.
Safely operate forklifts for the movement of large and heavy items.
