Material Handler I -2nd shift
About The Position
The Material Handler I follows established procedures, processes, and policies while transporting materials within the facility using a forklift or other equipment. The role supports business needs by flexing across different products and areas, working effectively with the immediate team, and participating in team meetings to exchange job-related information. This position develops knowledge of the company, the function, and the business, and may take part in career-development projects. The employee may help train new or transferring employees on work instructions and standard work. The role also involves performing equipment inspections, operating equipment safely, understanding basic ERP system functions, and participating in the Drive to Zero program. Additional duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- 0–1 years of experience.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate material handling equipment.
- Ability to identify and resolve basic problems.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Models positive and professional work ethics.
- Effective communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Follow established procedures, processes, and policies.
- Operate a forklift or other equipment to transport materials within the facility.
- Flex across different products and areas to support business needs.
- Perform daily forklift inspections.
- Operate all equipment needed for the job safely and effectively.
- Follow safety guidelines and practice safe working habits in support of company initiatives.
- Learn the basic functions of the ERP system.
- Participate in team meetings and exchange job-related information.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, attendance, and quality.
- Take responsibility for actions and follow through on commitments.
- Understand and participate in the Drive to Zero program.
- May assist in training new employees or employees learning new work areas on work instructions and standard work.
- May be assigned to projects for career development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
