About The Position

Under close supervision, the Material Handler performs physical and administrative tasks related to material handling, including shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, returns, and storage. The position involves lifting heavy items and operating a forklift. The work shift is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. After-hours work may be required, and driving duties may be performed. The role typically requires a high school diploma or GED and zero to two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination. The Material Handler has no supervisory or budget responsibility. Requirements

Typically, a high school diploma or GED and zero to two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination.
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to understand and carry out instructions in oral, written, and diagram formats.
Basic computer skills, including information processing.
Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Certified to operate a forklift.
Valid driver’s license.
Certified to handle hazardous material shipments.

Responsibilities

Unload shipments and direct their movement from the shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
Verify and record incoming and outgoing shipments in the Warehouse Management System to ensure the correct product, quality, and quantity.
Gather and verify items and place them into order-picking containers for outgoing shipments.
Prepare packing slips, shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documents.
Keep warehouse work areas and equipment clean, orderly, and properly maintained.
Replenish primary stock shelves from reserve stock locations as needed.
Operate a forklift.
Work after hours as needed.
May perform driving duties.
Perform other duties as assigned.
