About The Position

The Material Handler I is responsible for supporting warehouse operations, material movement and loading, housekeeping, and operation of material handling equipment, such as the box maker. This entry-level role performs duties in accordance with GMP, safety, and OSHA standards, including proper documentation, labeling, cleaning, and waste handling. This position may be exposed to hazardous materials and has access to confidential information.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse environment required, with previous experience in a GMP manufacturing warehouse environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills required.
  • Self-motivated and able to perform at a high standard with some supervision.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 1,000 lbs. required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Understanding of process flow mapping, JIT, and FIFO required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with loading trailers for shipments to internal and external customers and receiving materials from suppliers
  • Assist the team with transferring replenished materials to the warehouse/production staging areas.
  • Lift, push, and pull heavy materials, packaging supplies, finished goods, and other miscellaneous supplies throughout the warehouse and site.
  • Properly complete documentation according to GMP procedures.
  • Label raw materials and finished goods to be shipped in accordance with GMP.
  • Use box maker to create boxes for packing.
  • Perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks, such as trash removal, floor sweeping, and mopping, to maintain a neat and orderly warehouse environment.
  • Serve as site support (i.e., logistics, production, maintenance, etc.) as needed.
  • Properly dispose of and store waste in accordance with local laws, MSDS, and OSHA requirements, as needed.
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as intra-site vehicles, fork trucks, hand trucks, stretch wrappers, box makers, bailers, compactors, pallet inverters, and pallet transfer equipment.
