About The Position

The Material Handler I is responsible for the movement and flow of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods within the Thermoforming department. This role plays a key part in keeping production running efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on safety, organization, and quality.

Requirements

  • Can sit or stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures
  • Have or are willing to wear steel-toe footwear
  • Experience in manufacturing (food, paper, plastic, or metal preferred)
  • Forklift experience in a manufacturing setting (2–3 years preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and work well in a team environment
  • Reliable and able to work overtime or weekends as needed

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products
  • Perform roll splice operations
  • Change and empty Gaylords and transport them to staging areas
  • Inspect regrind material for contamination and ensure proper labeling
  • Drain cyclones and socks to prevent material backup
  • Stage rolls into roll carts and maintain proper material flow
  • Operate forklifts, tugs, and pallet jacks safely
  • Demonstrate knowledge of raw material types and handling procedures
  • Follow all plant safety rules and guidelines
  • Work closely with team members to meet production demands
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
