About The Position
The Materials Handler will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, supplies, and products within the facility. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of managing inventory, and ensure the smooth movement of materials through various departments while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.
- Attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies in orders and inventory.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs or as required by company standards).
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Responsibilities
- Unload incoming shipments, verify materials against purchase orders, and inspect goods for damage or discrepancies.
- Properly store materials in designated areas, ensuring materials are easily accessible and organized according to company standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, perform regular stock checks, and update inventory databases as necessary.
- Move materials to appropriate departments or workstations as needed, ensuring timely delivery of supplies.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare materials for shipment, including picking, packing, and labeling products or components.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent workplace injuries. Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Complete necessary paperwork, such as shipping forms, inventory logs, and receiving reports.
- Inspect materials for quality and ensure that only conforming products are stored and shipped.
- Work closely with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth material flow and operations.
