Material Handler I
About The Position
The Material Handler I receives, stores, recycles, ships, and transports warehoused goods and products. The role uses radio-frequency equipment to track products, handles and prepares materials according to customer specifications, and fulfills shipping orders. It also requires reliable attendance, cooperation with colleagues, appropriate interaction with employees and customers, timely completion of assigned work, and compliance with company policies and procedures. The position requires the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. A high school diploma or GED and six months of related experience are preferred. Responsibilities
- Use radio-frequency (RF) equipment to track products.
- Disassemble, reassemble, or repair products, materials, or equipment.
- Sort, bale, weigh, load, and recycle materials according to customer specifications.
- Attach identifying tags or labels, or mark information on cartons or other containers.
- Fill shipping orders for customers’ products and prepare them for shipping.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Work cooperatively with others.
- Interact appropriately with employees and customers.
- Complete assigned tasks and projects in a timely manner.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
