About The Position

Under direct supervision, this role handles and maintains the flow of materials and products in manufacturing areas according to established guidelines. It involves providing information for recording the movement of incoming and outgoing materials and supplies. The position may involve operating motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment, unpacking and checking goods against purchase orders or invoices, and maintaining records of received goods. The role also requires preparing and maintaining records of items shipped and complying with documentation and record-keeping procedures. Additionally, it may involve preparing goods for shipment or production assembly, examining, stocking, and distributing goods, entering information into the inventory management system, training others, and working from engineering drawings or following documented instructions. Computer-related program operation is also a part of this role.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate common material handling equipment (e.g. hand truck, scales, label maker, PC, etc.).
  • General computer skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior manufacturing or related experience

Responsibilities

  • Handles and maintains flow of materials and products in manufacturing areas.
  • Provides information for recording movement of incoming and outgoing materials and supplies.
  • May operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.
  • May unpack and check goods against purchase orders or invoices.
  • Maintains records of received goods, alerting appropriate personnel to inspect unsatisfactory items when necessary.
  • Will lift and move heavy items and may operate a forklift.
  • Will prepare and maintain records of items shipped and will be required to comply with documentation and record keeping procedures.
  • May prepare goods for final shipment and/or production assembly.
  • May examine, stock and/or distribute goods in inventory and/or in other areas.
  • May enter information into the inventory management system.
  • May train others in distribution related tasks.
  • May work from engineering drawings and/or follow documented assembly/ packaging instructions.
  • Ability to operate computer related programs.

Benefits

  • $20.75/hr + $2.00 Shift Differential plus bonus potential and benefits.
