About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring a Material Handler I to move materials and support manufacturing and shipping operations. The role involves issuing and stocking production lines, counting raw materials, picking and loading finished goods, combining manufacturing loads accurately, and preparing scrap material for pickup. The position also requires safe operation of material-handling equipment, including forklifts and electric pallet jacks. The position is based at 75 Aircraft RD, Southington, Connecticut. The stated schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime as designated. Pay is $19.50 per hour. Full-time team members receive medical, dental, and vision benefits starting on day one, along with other listed benefits.

Requirements

Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to understand shipping and packing lists.
Adequate computer skills to comprehend and operate related automated systems.
Strong attention to detail, including accurate cycle-counting skills.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and drive a forklift and handle pallet jacks.
Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

Move all materials properly.
Accurately issue and stock production lines.
Cycle count raw materials as required.
Properly pick and load finished goods.
Ensure finished goods are accurately loaded and handled with care.
Ensure manufacturing loads are accurate and properly combined.
Ensure scrap material is properly weighed and prepared for pickup.
Operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and related equipment safely.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
