About The Position

The Material Handler I is responsible for moving materials throughout the facility and supporting production, inventory, and shipping operations. The role includes accurately issuing and stocking production lines, cycle counting raw materials, picking and loading finished goods, and ensuring manufacturing loads are accurate and properly combined. The position also handles scrap material for pickup and requires safe operation of material-handling equipment. The position is located in Southington, Connecticut, and pays $19.50 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime as designated.

Requirements

Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to understand shipping and packing lists.
Adequate computer skills to understand and operate related automated systems.
Strong attention to detail, including accurate cycle-counting skills.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and drive a forklift and handle pallet jacks.
Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

Move all materials properly.
Accurately issue and stock production lines.

Weigh and prepare scrap material for pickup.
Safely operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and related equipment.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
