About The Position

The Material Handler I position is responsible for various warehouse duties including order pulling, packing, shipping, receiving, and forklift operation. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to perform physical tasks. The position is in a manufacturing or production environment and does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of shipping/receiving/warehouse process.
  • Ability to perform manual dexterity tasks, including using hand and small power tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely navigate lift trucks around others in a manufacturing environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Reliability (Attendance, Task Trustworthiness).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous lift truck experience preferred.
  • Ability to teach others with compassion and understanding that all people learn differently.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality checks on all outgoing and incoming shipments.
  • Locate the correct parts based on order details.
  • Stock kanbans.
  • Ensure proper pulling, packing, and labeling of parts orders for shipping.
  • Utilize spray foam and pre-shaped foam inserts to secure items in shipping boxes.
  • Ensure that all items are packed in a manner that prevents damage during transit.
  • Process UPS and FedEx domestic orders through the respective shipping software.
  • Ensure that all packages have correct labeling and postage before dispatch.
  • Unpack returned items and verify their condition.
  • Initiate the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process in the system.
  • Receive supplier deliveries and verify against purchase orders.
  • Inspect the condition of received goods and process them into inventory.
  • Safely operate forklifts for the movement of large and heavy items.
