About The Position

This is a Material Handler I role in the Storage Control department with a work shift of Monday-Friday, 2:30pm - 11:00pm. The role involves receiving, examining, sorting, arranging, counting, storing, picking, and packing items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements. The position also includes preparing and filing routine documentation, maintaining quality metrics, and operating material handling equipment. A significant aspect of the role involves working in and out of a +4c walk-in Cold Room and a -20c walk-in Freezer.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma OR GED Required
  • Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Close vision and ability to adjust focus required.
  • Regularly required to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • May be required to lift weight of 45 pounds or more, with assistance and/or with equipment on occasion.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in distribution, warehouse or supply chain or related field
  • Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers)

Responsibilities
