About The Position

Primarily responsible for the support of the Distribution Center (DC) by efficiently stocking inbound merchandise to designated locations in a timely manner. This role requires the ability to operate various types of power equipment and handheld scanners, identify merchandise and its units of measure for proper placement, and maintain primary pick locations. The Material Handler will also communicate stocking errors, meet quality and productivity standards, and adhere to housekeeping guidelines. A commitment to safety and excellent attendance are essential.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Commitment to a high standard of safety and willingness to comply with all safety policies and practices.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime when needed.
  • Good comprehension, organizational, and math skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to interact effectively with other departments and all levels of management.
  • Ability to maintain records accurately and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Must be a team player with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be able to meet physical assessment requirements for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Power Equipment certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Transfer merchandise using a stand-up reach truck, sit-down forklift, stock picker, and/or pallet jack from staging areas to primary pick locations and back to stock locations.
  • Operate a handheld scanner.
  • Understand receiving labels on inbound merchandise to identify and place it into assigned locations.
  • Identify merchandise and maintain primary pick locations.
  • Accurately identify units of measure for proper placement of merchandise.
  • Directly communicate with co-workers any identified location stocking errors.
  • Meet quality and productivity standards.
  • Take direction from Supervisor.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and reliable predictability.
  • Adhere to DC housekeeping guidelines.
  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
