About The Position

Owens Corning is seeking dynamic individuals to join their local team in North Platte, NE. This role involves the adequate and efficient transportation of product and raw materials within the manufacturing facility, ensuring all transport is done safely. The position requires maintaining a safe and clean work environment, supplying doors to saws, staging and stacking untrimmed doors, verifying tickets match doors before placing them in the dry room, conducting pre-operational inspections, and cleaning/maintaining the forklift. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior forklift operation in manufacturing environment.
  • 2-3 Years in the field or related area.
  • Must demonstrate solid teamwork abilities.
  • Communicate, in English, in a clear and effective manner.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Work independently, as well as part of a team, and have shift flexibility.
  • Required to mount and dismount forklift multiple times per day.
  • Forklift knowledge and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to organize and maintain detailed records.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and have ability to multi-task.
  • Stand for 10 - 12 hours straight.
  • Climb and descend forklift as needed.
  • Lift 50 pounds as needed.
  • Do repetitive movements (hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee; squatting; lift, push and pull 60 pounds).
  • Withstand exposure to temperature extremes; sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable.

Responsibilities

  • Adequately and efficiently transport product, raw materials, etc. from location to location within the manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure all product is transported in a safe manner.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Supply doors to the saws.
  • Stage and stack untrimmed doors in a safe, easily accessible manner.
  • Verify tickets match the doors prior to placing them in the dry room.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspection.
  • Clean and maintain the forklift.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
