The Material Handler Entry position involves receiving incoming materials, supplies, and equipment, unloading trucks, inspecting materials, preparing items for shipment, processing inventory transactions, operating material handling equipment, and delivering materials to appropriate departments.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform all assigned duties.
  • Ability to demonstrate skills required to obtain forklift operator certification.
  • Ability to maintain good housekeeping in assigned area.
  • Ability to comply with all applicable safety, environmental, and PPE policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • General knowledge of inventory processes including storing, receiving, packaging, preserving, issuing, shipping, or transferring, and inventory control.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
  • Typically less than 2 years related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Unload trucks, inspect material for damage or defects, uncrate and assemble materials if needed.
  • Prepare crates and other items to be shipped.
  • Process basic shipping / receiving / inventory transactions in computer system.
  • With training, operate material handling equipment including hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, delivery vehicle, etc.
  • Deliver materials to appropriate departments and obtain required signatures.
  • May respond to after hours requests regularly on an on call basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
