About The Position

This position is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near the plant, yard, or worksite. The Material Handler will read work orders or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved, log and remove Bindery/Finishing materials out of inventory for upcoming jobs, and log excess materials back into inventory when jobs complete. This role also involves wrapping skids, conveying materials from storage or work sites to designated areas, staging printed material to appropriate equipment, and removing full waste boxes from Bindery/Finishing and the Pressroom. The Material Handler will also maintain product handling equipment, remove samples of materials, and label them with identifying information. Additionally, the role requires operating a forklift or reach truck to assist in loading or moving materials and products throughout the warehouse and production areas, and operating a straight truck to assist in moving materials and products between buildings. Computer knowledge and the ability to work independently with little supervision are preferred.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
1 year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Good written communication skills.
Efficient time management skills.
Ability to work by self with little supervision.
