About The Position

Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) is seeking a Blast Technician / Material Handler to join our federal team at our York, PA (Grantly Plant) location. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized 6S environment, understanding the criticality of proper quality-controlled documentation, and operating various powered equipment. The position requires maintaining forklift certification and adhering to and promoting compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols. Requirements

  • 1-5 years of related experience in manufacturing
  • Blast experience
  • Material handling
  • Shipping/Receiving
  • 1-5 years of experience in forklift driving
  • Technical knowledge
  • Communication skills
  • Time management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Certified forklift operator
  • Certified pendent control overhead crane operator
  • Accuracy in identifying, counting, maintaining records
  • Ability to read, write, add, subtract decimals, fractions

Responsibilities

  • Working from complex mechanical drawings
  • Preparing parts and other products from prints, standard work, and routers
  • Working with cross-functional teams
  • Ensuring Workmanship
  • Documenting quality-controlled tasks
  • Proper handling of finished product
  • Proper preparation of a machined surface finish and M number before blast
  • Maintaining shot blast centers
  • Operating blast centers
  • Maintaining PPE equipment, cleaning and sanitizing following use
  • Maintaining blast centers
  • Checking levels of the blast filtration system
  • Protection of any openings, threaded holes, heat/slab numbers and machined surfaces
  • Proper placement of material in work centers
  • Making sure Work In Process (WIP) material is staged at the proper stations
  • Transporting inbound/outbound work center material
  • Operating forklifts
  • Transporting product on the Rico
  • Proper rigging of various products using overhead crane/jib crane
  • Staging blasted parts on shadowed carts/skids
  • Dumping of metal hoppers
  • Weighing refrigerant tanks
  • Moving fixturing and other non-inventory items
