About The Position

The Material Handler 2 supports manufacturing and warehouse operations by performing routine, material handling activities, including shipping, receiving, storage, inventory transactions, and distributing materials across multiple campuses. Working under established procedures and supervision, this role ensures materials are handled accurately, safely, and in compliance with Quality Assurance and safety requirements. The Material Handler 2 applies operational knowledge to execute assigned tasks consistently and efficiently, and demonstrates flexibility to support various warehouse operations, including cold chain handling, temperature-sensitive materials, and clinical pack assembly.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years of practical warehouse experience
  • At least 1 year of experience operating a pallet jack and forklift
  • Ability to lift and move material containers weighing up to 50 pounds consistently
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures
  • Ability to handle biohazardous materials safely and in compliance with applicable regulations
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic problem-solving skills with the ability to recognize issues and seek guidance when needed
  • Ability to work collaboratively and reliably within a team environment
  • Must wear appropriate warehouse attire and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) daily.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications or training in warehouse management, logistics, safety, or hazardous materials handling preferred (e.g., forklift certification, hazardous material handling)
  • Experience with clinical pack assembly, inventory reconciliation, and domestic and international shipment preparation preferred
  • Ability to run GMP material processes within established procedures
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Sage X3 or similar) and inventory management practices

Responsibilities

  • Pull material, pack in appropriate cold chain shipment packages and prepare paperwork for domestic and international shipments ensuring compliance with Quality Assurance policies and procedures
  • Receive, store, and issue materials, including biohazardous materials and chemicals, while maintaining required temperature control and storage conditions
  • Assemble clinical packs based on work orders in Sage X3 ERP, following the bill of materials, ensuring on time and accurate completion
  • Reconcile purchase orders with received materials and perform GMP-compliant receiving, inspection, labeling, and transaction recording in the ERP system
  • Execute GMP stocking of materials in accordance with SOPs and Material Delivery Specifications (MDS)
  • Performs assigned GMP material processes by following established procedures and work instructions to ensure compliance with GMP regulations and company standards
  • Maintain proper inventory balances in Sage X3 ERP by performing inventory transactions accurately and on time
  • Perform regular cycle counts, document inventory discrepancies, and record findings in Sage X3 ERP system
  • Allocate materials across warehouses, ensuring proper security and transport of materials on company trucks
  • Ensure all warehouse materials are issued following the First-Expired, First-Out (FEFO) GMP methodology
  • Properly identify materials with corresponding lot numbers, expiration dates, serial numbers, and part numbers
  • Prepare and process shipments and returns through logistics providers (FedEx, IPS, etc.) following established processes ensuring timely and accurate delivery
  • Monitor ongoing shipping supplies and notify appropriate personnel when replenishment is needed to support daily operations
  • Safely and efficiently operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks
  • Keep the dock and receiving area clean, organized, and in a perpetual state of audit readiness
  • Properly handle the disposal of receiving and shipping related waste, including boxed biohazard waste
  • Comply with company SOPs, policies and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
  • Follow established policies, procedures, and processes and provide input or observations to support quality, cycle time, and operational efficiency
  • Recognize routine issues (e.g., inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, temperature excursions) and escalate them following established procedures
  • Communicate material shortages, low inventory levels, or upcoming material expirations with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality teams in accordance with established procedure
  • Deliver mail and parcels between satellite offices and warehouse locations as assigned
  • Report work-related issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel following established escalation procedures
  • Attend departmental and company meetings as required
  • Adhere to all training requirements and maintain skills up to date
  • Perform other operational or support duties as assigned
