About The Position

This is an intermediate warehousing position that is expected to complete all tasks under general supervision. Material Handler 2 performs a variety of warehouse functions including receiving, shipping, manufacturing support, and inventory control. The position is responsible for completing the physical and systematic movement of material in accordance with all safety, cGMP, and quality procedures. The position is expected to transact all material timely and compile and maintain all required documents for material movement as per quality procedures. This position may work with raw materials, dangerous goods, WIP materials, finished goods, returned goods, R&D materials, etc.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a material handling role.
  • 1 year of experience utilizing Oracle/WMS or 2 years of experience completing transactions in another ERP/WMS system.
  • 1+ year of experience operating electric-powered material handling equipment.
  • Basic computer data entry skills.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to obtain a forklift certification.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • High School diploma/certificate or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Obtained and/or certified on at least one type of material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all warehousing activities including receiving, shipping, manufacturing support, and inventory control in compliance with Safety, cGMP, and Quality Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Unload, load, put away, and retrieve material utilizing hand trucks, powered forklifts, or other material handling equipment.
  • Perform transactions in the ERP/WMS system including shipping, entering cycle counts, material receipts, and shipments.
  • Look up material status and location in the ERP/WMS system.
  • Utilize Outlook to send emails to internal partners.
  • Complete basic data entry in Excel or other programs.
  • Perform 7-point inspections on tractor trailers prior to unloading or loading materials.
  • Inspect inbound materials for damages.
  • Verify material information including part number, lot number, expiration date, and quantity against vendor paperwork and purchase orders.
  • Review raw material specifications for instructions prior to receiving and labeling materials.
  • Prepare pick lists for materials based on requests from manufacturing and/or planning.
  • Pick, stage, and transact bulk and non-bulk materials.
  • Actively look for opportunities to drive improvements in operations and bring suggestions to supervisory staff.
