About The Position
The Material Handler contributes to Joern’s daily inbound and outbound warehouse operations and does related work as assigned. Joerns Healthcare LLC is a leading national distributor of therapeutic support surfaces , bariatric care equipment; negative pressure wound therapy systems, and safe patient handling solutions, products and services. We serve special patient handling needs across the entire continuum of care, including acute care hospitals, long term acute care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation facilities, and hospice. We continually strive to provide the most exceptional service and solutions that deliver positive financial and clinical outcomes to our customers. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be forklift certified or have the ability to be forklift certified.
- Must be detail oriented.
- 3-5 years' previous warehouse experience
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing preferred.
- Knowledge of computer applications
- Ability to solve problems in a practical manner.
Responsibilities
- Prepares shipping orders and moves materials by operating material handling equipment.
- Verifies that all orders are filled, packaged and processed correctly.
- Responsible for transaction accuracy
- Load and unload shipments from trucks.
- Check in, put away, and systematic receipt of inbound shipments.
- Responsible for following all applicable safety/housekeeping guidelines.
- Must be able to work overtime as required.
