About The Position

Material Handler 2 is responsible for ensuring that production lines are continuously supplied with the correct materials, components, and products as needed. This role plays a critical part in maintaining efficient production flow, minimizing downtime, and ensuring inventory accuracy.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety, food service regulations, health regulations, and proper sanitation practices.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in order picking, packing, and inventory management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Always present a neat and clean appearance.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics, multitasking, and computer skills.
  • Comprehension and adherence to all company procedures and regulations related to food handling and sanitation.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve, transport, and deliver raw materials, components, and packaging supplies to production lines according to schedules and work orders.
  • Refill production materials as needed to avoid stoppages or slowdowns.
  • Maintain accurate records of material movement using warehouse management scanners.
  • Verify materials and quantities against pick lists, production orders, or inventory records.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Return unused materials to designated storage areas and update inventory accordingly.
  • Assist in inventory counts, cycle counts as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with production managers, supervisors and warehouse team members to coordinate supply needs.
  • Receive transfers from Long Prairie warehouse, verify that quantities are correct and put away in a timely matter.
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment such as a forklift, pickers and pallet jacks, to move, stack, or transport goods as required.
  • Perform visual inspections on incoming shipments to ensure products meet quality standards, including checking for damages and correct labeling.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve warehouse goals. Communicate effectively regarding inventory updates, issues, or concerns.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment by maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the warehouse facility, including sweeping, disposing of waste, dusting, mopping, and organizing storage areas for efficient workflow.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines when operating warehouse equipment and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Adhere to company policies and procedures, GMP guidelines, including occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Perform additional assigned duties as required.
