Sub-Zero Group is seeking a Material Flow Engineer to lead, continuously improve and optimize the movement of materials within the manufacturing plant. You will work cross-functionally with multiple groups to include Engineering and Supply Chain. You will report to the Materials Manager at the Sub-Zero Fitchburg facility. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Logistics
  • 2-6+ years in manufacturing industry
  • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing Principles, CAD, and Plan For Every Part (PFEP) methodologies
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally to achieve common goals
  • Ability to support and drive process changes with new product launches, line balancing, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience working with 3PL providers

Responsibilities

  • Designs and optimizes the movement of raw materials, parts, and finished goods within a manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective production.
  • Reduce waste by developing end-to-end material handling processes and designing warehouse layouts.
  • Develops dock-to-point-of-use material handling systems, optimizing lineside space utilization and material replenishment.
  • Creates detailed material flow paths, warehouse layouts, and storage solutions using CAD software to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborates with Production, Logistics and Supply Chain teams to improve safety, quality and reduce material handling costs.
  • Uses data and simulation software to model material flow and validate labor/equipment requirements.
