About The Position

3M is seeking Material Coordinator candidates for its Lexington, KY plant. This is a full-time, first-shift position with a starting rate of $19.67 and a top-out pay of $24.04. The Material Coordinator will work at the Lexington, KY plant site, collaborating with innovative colleagues. This role involves preparing, assembling, and packing orders, verifying materials, receiving and distributing materials, processing transactions in SAP and freight carrier systems, supporting production by kitting orders and delivering materials, and maintaining inventory accuracy in a safe and organized environment with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience using computers for data entry, order processing, or transaction entry in a work or school environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, shipping documents, and purchase orders.
  • Experience following written procedures or standard operating instructions.
  • Experience performing tasks that require attention to detail and accuracy (e.g., verifying orders, matching documentation, or tracking inventory).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) or more years of shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Experience using freight carrier systems (e.g., UPS, FedEx).
  • Knowledge of domestic and/or international shipping processes.
  • Experience with inventory control and material handling practices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, assemble, and pack orders in accordance with customer and shipping requirements.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing materials against documentation; report and resolve discrepancies.
  • Receive, inspect, and distribute materials to appropriate departments or storage locations.
  • Process all shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions in SAP and freight carrier systems.
  • Support production by kitting orders, attaching drawings, and delivering materials as needed.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and a clean, safe, and organized work environment while completing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Comply with corporate policies, procedures, and security standards while performing assigned duties.
  • Contribute to a strong Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) culture by following safety policies, identifying hazards, and engaging in continuous improvement.
