Material Coordinator
About The Position
SAIC is seeking a Material Coordinator to join their team in Hanahan, SC. This position is 100% on site. The Material Coordinator will be responsible for preparing and arranging materials, products, and kits for distribution or storage, managing inventory both physically and virtually, and moving, loading, or unloading equipment, materials, and products. This role may involve operating or tending pipelines, pumps, and valves to transfer liquids, driving forklifts and related material-handling machinery, and using tools like scoops, hand trucks, and wheelbarrows. As directed, the Material Coordinator performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Work involves verifying materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages, routing materials to storage locations, kitting, shipping, and spreadsheet management. Additionally, the role includes storing, stacking, or palletizing materials, rearranging and taking inventory, examining stored materials for deterioration or damage, and removing materials for shipment. The worker may operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience
- Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Tools (Word and Excel in particular).
- Must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and arranging materials, products and kits in bulk and non-bulk forms for distribution or storage
- Managing Inventory both physically and virtually
- Moving and loading or unloading equipment, materials, and products
- Operating or tending pipelines pumps and valves to transfer liquids
- Driving forklifts and related material-handling machinery and equipment
- Using scoops, hand trucks, and wheelbarrows to load and move materials.
- Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages
- Routing materials to prescribed storage locations, kitting, shipping and spreadsheet management
- Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods
- Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials
- Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage
- Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment
- Operating hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties
