We are seeking a Material Coordinator to provide support at Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) Product Family located in San Diego, CA. This Material Coordinator will be responsible for research, tracking, receiving, issuing, storing, inventory of materials and repair parts. This includes material management support to the various SWRMC Product Families, Product Lines, and Shops, as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Must be able to complete SWRMC General Supply Specialist (GSS) Job Qualification Requirement (JQR) within four (4) months of providing direct support.
  • Must be able to complete OHSA 10 and Low Speed Vehicle training (for operationg of carts) within ninety (90) days.
  • Must be able obtain and maintain access to all computer/web applications required to perform duties including: MSE, WEBFLIS, WEBVLIPS, One Touch Support (OTS), FedMall, MRO Tracker, GSA Advantage, Haystack, FEDLOG, and Internet search engines to perform research.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CAC ID Base access and DoD Security Clearance.
  • Start date contingent upon approval of base access which is required for this position and continued employment.
  • May require forklift license depending on shop need. If needed, license will require a forklift physical.

Responsibilities

  • Support SWRMC Production Control Division in accomplishing material logistical support for Intermediate (I)-level brokered maintenance work in accordance with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM), ensuring adherence to SWRMC Work Induction Business and Broker Rules, GSS standard operating procedures, and MDS process requirements.
  • Provide material management support to the various SWRMC Product Families, Product Lines, and Shops, as assigned.
  • Perform material management support in accordance with NAVSUP, OPNAV and DoD supply instructions, manuals, and publications; SWRMC data system process guides; and prescribed GSS standard operating procedures.
  • Must be able to perform the following tasks during the performance of duties: research, tracking, receiving, issuing, storing and inventory of materials and repair parts.
  • Perform inventory routine counts, validate locations, research and request adjustments for any variances, and resolve errors.
  • Manage Mission Support Material (MSM) and Future Use Material (FUM).
  • Maintain and organize warehousing of MSM and FUM for easy access, identification, inventory, and transfer or issue to the shops.
  • Process offloads of excess material per DoD and NAVSUP policies.
  • Perform research and provide materials and repair parts requisition requests to Government GSS personnel for Government Furnished Material (GFM) required for Off-Site Shop work.
  • Perform validation and process materials and services requests from assigned shops, create Job Material Lists (JMLs), and follow up on requisitions.
  • Assist with the pickup of supplies, materials, and repair parts.
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) functions (i.e., validate the materials being received are the materials that were ordered, are the correct quantities, are in good condition, and are properly identified and packaged for transport).
  • Monitor material statuses, and take corrective actions to remedy material status issues, when required.
  • Shall complete and manage all required, auditable paperwork and records in support of SWRMC GSS material management processes.
  • Execute material management support responsibilities accurately and efficiently, in accordance with JFMM, SWRMC Work Induction Business and Broker Rules, and Production Department directives and memoranda.
  • Order material requirements timely to support meeting required delivery dates (RDDs).
  • Monitor requisition statuses and expedite or reorder materials as required to meet RDDs.
  • Provide support for material pick-up, receipt, and stowage, as required.
  • Maintain MSM and FUM inventories.
  • Submit Product Deficiency Reports and Supply Discrepancy Reports, when required.
  • Provide shop personnel with updates.
  • Must comply with SWRMCINST 4200.5, Policy on Prevention of Unauthorized Commitments, to avoid the commitment of unauthorized commitments (UACs).
  • Must be professional in all communications and dealings, including with all internal and external customers.
