The Material Coordinator expedites the flow of materials, parts and assemblies between sections or departments. This role provides mission support for Kirtland AFB tenant units, updates computer databases related to equipment tracking and reporting, and interfaces with base equipment custodians to ensure appropriate documentation is current. The position involves training other supply personnel and equipment custodians, tracking and reporting unfavorable supply process trends, and interacting with higher headquarters on equipment questions. The Material Coordinator assumes responsibility for the entire Equipment Management program on Kirtland AFB, performing equipment account inventories base-wide daily. Responsibilities also include Stock Control functions (transportation, listings, D04, K350, AWP documentation, rejection items, SDR’s, etc. as required by IAW 23-101, SOW and other AF directive), maintaining Kirtland AFB bench stock accounts, and ensuring inventory balances are met. The role provides customer support using ES-S, Assent Management, IMDS and other AF websites, offers technical assistance to supply customers, processes requisitioning actions, and interfaces with the source of supply for stock availability status. Additionally, the Material Coordinator performs in-depth analysis regarding materials management when requested or directed and researches references related to MICAP processes. The Material Coordinator may be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
