About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Material Coordinator in North Charleston, SC. This role will be primarily tasked with performing moderate to complex vehicle integration tasks to include cable routing, metal work installations, and technical support to integrate, install, modify, and perform upgrades in support of C5ISR systems. The position will also provide occasional assistance to related support areas, including kitting and warehouse operations. The Material Coordinator will read and follow integration documentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches, drawings and diagrams, layouts, and plans often requiring interpretation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or Associates Degree in Engineering Technology, or Formal electronics Training from: Technical School, Class A or B Military school in electronics or communications, or four year electronics apprentice program.
  • Two (2) or more years of appropriate experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair of digital computers, computer peripheral/interface, equipment, VME based systems, digital switches, radio frequency transmitters, receivers, antennas, and modems.
  • At least one (1) year of the last three (3) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of C5ISR systems, subsystems, and equipment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Public Trust security clearance.
  • Familiar with the use and operation of power tools is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform moderate to complex vehicle integration tasks including cable routing, metal work installations, and technical support to integrate, install, modify, and perform upgrades in support of C5ISR systems.
  • Provide occasional assistance to related support areas, including kitting and warehouse operations.
  • Read and follow integration documentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches, drawings and diagrams, layouts, and plans often requiring interpretation.
  • Safely complete all of the physical demands of the job in a manufacturing environment, including lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis.
  • Walk, bend, stoop, sit, stand or squat for extended periods.
  • Repeatedly manipulate and handle tools needed for installing electrical components, mechanical parts and metal work into vehicles.
  • Move and arrange heavy cable supplies and electronic equipment.
