About The Position

Amentum is looking for a Material Coordinator-MHC Clerk to join our team in Springfield, VA. This role involves coordinating and expediting the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies according to production and shipping schedules. The position requires inventorying and retrieving sanitized property and excess NGA property, compiling reports on material on hand, and transporting materials between departments. Additional duties include verifying deliveries against receiving documents, noting discrepancies, routing materials to storage locations, and inspecting deliveries for damage or misrouting.

Requirements

  • Must have and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Government security clearance.
  • Must be physically able to perform lifting of objects up to 65 pounds per package and maneuver up to 80 pounds.
  • Must be able to build pallets or boxes for storage or shipping purposes.
  • Must be able to withstand rigorous physical demands including, bending, squatting, lifting, and standing for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to operate electric and manual pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments IAW with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities.
  • Inventory and retrieve sanitized property and other excess NGA property upon receipt of work order for pick-up.
  • Inventory excess property upon pick-up and sign required forms, thereby accepting responsibility for the accountable items and remove from the Customer’s work area.
  • Compile report of quantity and type of material on hand.
  • Move or transport material from one department to another, using hand or industrial truck and maintain employee records.
  • Verify material against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
  • Route materials to prescribed storage locations.
  • Store, stack, or palletize materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods and standard operating procedures.
  • Inspect deliveries at the loading docks for misdirected shipments and obvious shipping damage.
  • Obtain carriers signature on waybill documenting shipping damage, if any.
  • Determine appropriate routing upon acceptance.
