The purpose of this position is to provide essential administrative work processes, technical knowledge, and direction as listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position serves as a Discipline Lead Material Controller on assigned projects of difficult complexity. Displays advanced knowledge of Fluor’s practices and guidelines. • Has basic understanding of the development of project estimates and project baselines. • Understands project execution including Change Management and how it affects the changes in material quantities. • Advise on project Forecasting. • Has the ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) other discipline drawings, and manufacturer’s catalog data. • Provide procurement and expediting support and expediting in conformance with project requirements. • Keeps the Project Discipline Engineer/Material Control Manager informed of the status of materials. Discipline specific job responsibilities: • Assist in development of Instrument Line Class Specification (Z-Spec) • Build and issue Z-Specs from global material management (MATMAN) database • Possess detailed understanding of instrument assemblies / installation details and their associated materials • Assist in development, selection and building of global and project-specific installation details and composite details in association with MATMAN • Develop and Issue the Instrument Material Control Plan • Perform material take-off analysis from drawings • Check Bill of Material / material take-offs done by others • Perform Hexagon Smart® Instrumentation – MATMAN interface • Perform all Material Control functions, including but not limited to: Build Requisitions, Material Lookups, etc • Ensure all instrumentation RFQ's, PO's, and TBE's are consistent and follow project guidelines • Work with Responsible Engineers to be sure their quantities are correct, come from the correct source of record, and are attributed appropriately
