About The Position

The Material Control Specialist I ensures proper handling, storage, and transport of raw materials inventory and in-process product. The Material Control Specialist I maintains transactional inventory accuracy and performs stock rotations in accordance with standard operating procedures. Responsible for daily tasks within warehouse areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of SAP/MAX or other material management software preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) & Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification preferred; on-site training available
  • Must meet requirements to be an authorized driver of company insured vehicles

Responsibilities

  • Data entry of all SAP and Max transactions in the receiving and movement of raw material inventory.
  • Pull all needed raw and in-process materials required by the company in a timely fashion.
  • Utilize FEFO/FIFO practices
  • Assure compliance to all standard operating procedures.
  • Keep work areas in an organized and orderly fashion, storing materials to preserve their integrity.
  • Maintain the accuracy of the inventory through periodic physical counting of the materials.
  • Assist as needed with material returns accordance to company Quality, Purchasing, Financial and Manufacturing standards.
  • Ensure expired materials are removed from stock.
  • Timely transfer of needed materials for production and documents to storage location.
  • Operation of forklift.
  • Driving of company minitruck.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
