About The Position

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Palmdale, CA is seeking a full-time Early Career Material and Process Engineer. In this role, you will provide technical expertise and problem solving in the paint and coating process, adhesive systems, and sealant systems. You will investigate materials and processes as requested by the customer and document findings, participate in Structured Improvement Activity (SIA) teams for continuous improvement, and perform physical, chemical, and analytical testing on aircraft build materials. You will also provide technical support and problem resolution for manufacturing floor processes and supplier materials, parts, and processes, and perform engineering specification and documentation technical reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or a related STEM field
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Effective presentation and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and Microsoft Teams environment
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to interpret, perform, and analyze quantitative and qualitative chemical testing, including wet chemistry techniques
  • Ability to interpret, perform, and analyze material physical and mechanical property testing
  • Familiarity with destructive testing methods and mechanical testing equipment

Responsibilities
