About The Position

The Match Support Specialist is responsible for all aspects of enrollment and match supervision for volunteers and children assigned to their caseload within our site based programs. Special attention is to be given to providing excellent customer service, adhering to quality, legal, BBBS standards, BBBSLI policies and procedures, the safety of the children, the agency’s mission, vision and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field and preferably at least one year of relevant work experience
  • Thorough understanding of case work practice and record keeping, and have the ability to develop supportive relationships with volunteers, clients and families
  • Good organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • A non-judgmental attitude and broad knowledge of the community and social issues
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office (Outlook, Word)
  • Clean NYS Driver’s license
  • Ability to travel throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Support and supervise a designated caseload according to the Agency’s policies and procedures. Special attention is given to providing excellent customer service, adhering to quality, legal, BBBS standards, BBBSLI policies and procedures, the safety of the children, the agency’s mission, vision and values.
  • Conduct enrollment interviews for volunteers and clients.
  • Obtain signed application, consent forms, references, background checks, public domain searches, report cards, etc…for completion of enrollment processing.
  • Match processing, including conducting match meetings.
  • Regularly scheduled match supervision on the phone and/or in person (if needed/directed by supervisor) to meet national BBBS standards.
  • Attendance at match activities as directed by supervisor.
  • Evaluation and documentation of outcomes (YOS, Match Anniversary, etc…) for caseload.
  • Conduct match closure meetings in person with all parties of match.
  • Facilitate the school/site-based programs by organizing and overseeing activities at schools, universities, and workplaces.
  • Maintain relations with appropriate school/site personnel.
  • Attend scheduled meetings of site based mentoring programs.
  • Maintain appropriate paperwork for all participants.
  • Attend appropriate administrative meetings regarding school/site based programs.
  • Prepare appropriate documentation for supervision meetings.
  • Submit monthly expense reports to Director of Finance.
  • Work closely with supervisor to ensure implementation of daily program operations.
  • Maintain updated information in computer database (MATCHFORCE) for volunteers and clients.
  • Provide statistical information and reports to supervisor on a monthly basis and/or on as needed basis.
  • Attendance at meetings: staff, program, support, and supervision with supervisor.
  • Attendance at trainings, workshops, and conferences which encourage personal and professional growth.
  • Attendance at agency events, both program related and fundraising opportunities.
  • Other tasks when assigned based on the Agency’s needs
