About The Position

The Masters Career Coach (MMA) leads the program’s general career development and career-readiness services. The incumbent provides individualized coaching, designs program-wide programming, and translates labor-market intelligence into student-facing support so students receive coherent and relevant guidance. This role reports to the Associate Director, Career Coaching of Desautels Career Management Services (CMS) and works closely with the Academic Director, Program Director, Technical Interview Coach, and Industry Liaison for the Master of Management in Analytics (MMA) program.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Education, Career Development, Communications, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in career services or career coaching at a leading university or business school and/or in corporate recruiting, talent development, human resources consulting, executive search, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in career coaching, learning-program design, facilitation, or a related field, preferably with graduate or professional students.
Strong professional demeanor, trustworthiness, and ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French, with strong attention to detail.
Strong relationship building skills, client orientation, professionalism, and discretion; ability to engage with an international and diverse clientele.
Comfort with ambiguity and the capacity to manage several projects and priorities simultaneously, including a workload that varies with recruitment cycles.
Strong data literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, database, career management platforms, CRM systems (Salesforce), survey tools, and related technologies.
Willingness to work flexible hours, particularly during peak recruitment periods.

Nice To Haves

In-depth knowledge of current recruitment practices in analytics, consulting, technology, and AI-related industries is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of graduate and professional recruitment processes, labor-market dynamics, and employer expectations. Knowledge of analytics, artificial intelligence, data science, consulting, technology, or related employment markets is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide individualized consultation and coaching to MMA students to clarify career goals, target roles and sectors, develop a professional value proposition, and build practical job-search plans.
Advise students on résumés, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, networking skills, personal branding, employer communications, self-directed job search, behavioral interviews, offer evaluation, and transition to employment.
Establish a proactive coaching cadence, monitor engagement, and develop targeted interventions for students who are not progressing or who face barriers in the job search.
Liaise with the Technical Interview Coach on referrals for coding assessments, technical cases, analytics problem-solving, and other specialized technical preparation.
Respond to routine student inquiries regarding recruiting timelines, application processes, networking opportunities, and career resources.
Support special projects and initiatives related to student success and career development.
Manage student communications related to career services, internships, and recruiting opportunities.
Design and implement a consistent, integrated MMA career-planning program across the academic year, including workshops, resources, recruiting preparation, and just-in-time interventions aligned with recruiting cycles.
Maintain a global overview of MMA-related Career Services programming and collaborate with MMA Program and Academic Directors and the Technical Interview Coach to plan offerings that meet market demands and ensure the highest degree of client satisfaction among students.
Prepare students for employer presentations, career fairs, networking activities, alumni interactions, interviews, and other recruiting touchpoints; facilitate structured preparation and debriefing where appropriate.
Explore career-development best practices, platforms, facilitators, and external providers; manage approved vendor relationships and recommend offerings based on student needs, service quality, and available budget.
Share aggregate student interests, target sectors, and assess readiness needs with the MMA Industry Liaison and CMS Business Development team; use employer and industry feedback to adapt coaching and programming.
Monitor employer recruiting timelines and ensure students receive timely information.
Represent CMS at internal or external meetings as appropriate and provide subject-matter input to Faculty communications, annual reports, ranking submissions, and accreditation materials.
Ensure accurate collection and analysis of internship and post-graduation employment outcomes, including placement status, role and sector, compensation data, and other measures used for management, rankings, accreditation, comparison with peer institutions, and institutional reporting.
Monitor changes in recruiting practices and employment trends in analytics, artificial intelligence, data science, consulting, technology, and related sectors, and adapt student-facing services accordingly.
Conduct market research on employment trends in analytics, artificial intelligence, data science, consulting, and technology sectors.
Support key initiatives aimed at improving student placement outcomes and employer engagement.
Collaborate with other members of CMS to share best practices and provide occasional back up/ support as needed.
