About The Position

At Quinn Power Systems, our technicians help keep our customers powered by supporting Caterpillar power generation equipment and systems. We are seeking a motivated and dependable Power Systems Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their mechanical and electrical skills while gaining hands-on experience with generator sets, engines, and related power systems equipment. The successful candidate will assist with inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting under the guidance of experienced technicians while developing the skills needed to grow within Quinn Power Systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic understanding of tools, equipment, engines, and mechanical systems.
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop Power Systems technical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Must have or be able to obtain the required tools for the position.
  • One-year certificate or Associates degree from a community college or technical school; Minimum five plus year's of CAT dealer experience and ten year's heavy equipment industry experience or equivalent education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school, vocational training, or coursework in diesel, electrical, mechanical, or power generation systems preferred but not required.
  • Basic electrical knowledge is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize and maintain proper PPE and identify and control potential safety hazards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventive maintenance on power generation equipment, engines, and related systems.
  • Assist with diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Complete basic repairs and component replacements.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and accurately document findings.
  • Safely operate tools, diagnostic equipment, and other service equipment.
  • Support senior technicians with larger repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance projects.
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow all Quinn Company safety policies and procedures.
